It’s exactly one week til the big day. We’ve steered clear of talking politics, endorsing candidates, and all that jazz, mainly because the chance of anyone actually reading it is slim and the chance of it changing anyone’s opinion in this particular election is closer to none. I did, however, stumble across one piece of great / fun design (not that there haven’t been many others over the past few months) that I thought was worth putting up here. Not sure who to give credit to, but it’s got a nice non-partisan vibe. Update: Should have known by looking at it…Yeehaw Industries

One of our own was recently affected by this terrible disease, and after kicking it in the balls, produced this print to raise awareness and get the old screenprinting muscles limber again. Here’s our latest contribution to Conscious Alliance, a non-profit that trades posters for food at Concerts and Festivals. They are getting ready for a big summer season, making the rounds at all the big festivals and collecting tons of food for those in need. They asked us to help them out with a design for the Wakarusa Festival in Lawrence, Kansas. Last year’s food drive at Wakarusa raised over 3,000 pounds of food. This year’s years lineup includes The Flaming Lips, Emmylou Harris, and a ton of other acts. Get out this summer and see some live music – and if Conscious Alliance is at the show – bring some food to help the less fortunate and get some poster art. It’s a no-brainer.

Working on getting this broadside of a poem titled ‘A Day at the Library’ wrapped up and printed for the folks at the Front Range Community College Library. 16×20, one-color on French.

Our pal Scot Lefavor just launched an online store, which will make it a lot easier for non-Colorado folks to get their grubby hands on some of his work. The pieces currently up are a steal, so get there before they’re gone.

Our good friend Gregory Alan Isakov is going to be headlining a show at the Boulder Theater with some other great local Denver / Boulder bands on Thursday April 17. These posters are up around town to promote the show and a few should be available for sale at the Boulder Theater the night of the show. Full image of the poster here–>

This is an oldie but goodie. This show made me a Secret Machines fan for life. There are not very many of these in the T2P archive. Two color, 16×20

We’ve been on a sort of hiatus for the past five months or so, with most of our poster inventory and all of our printing equipment in storage since White Hills closed down in September. As of last week we have the keys to our new home, where our print shop will be sharing space with Neighbor and a couple of freelance creative folks. It’s going to be nice to have everything under one roof and in a really killer spot (right on Broadway and Pearl in downtown Boulder). We’ll post some pics when we get everything up and running, and we’ll be looking for some new jobs to help pay the rent! Should be up and running by mid February or so, with an online store to follow.

The last time the Secret Machines came through town they played a crazy set at the Fox. The guys brought their own stage – a monster circular structure fully equipped with sychronized lights and whole thing.. It was amazing. Equally amazing was the fact that the Fox was half full. One of those musical experiences that you can’t believe people are missing. Well you can probably tell by now that I happen to be a Secret Machines fan. These guys are the real deal.

We just finished a poster for the Relief Project, vol 2., a concert celebrating the release of “The Relief Project Vol. 2: A Colorado Story of Music” an album featuring 18 of Colorado’s best emerging bands and artists. The show is on Thursday, November 29th at The Oriental Theater in Denver, CO. The event will showcase five acts from the record -Braddigan, Flobots, Gregory Alan Isakov, J.E. Borgen, and Katie Herzig. All proceeds from ticket and CD sales will go to the Denver Children’s Home’s residential art and music therapy program.
